Bear Creek Lake Park

I love Summer Break! Matt has decided to hire out the rest of our backyard project and spend time with the family everyday. Everyday is a weekend day for us! WOW! What a rough life! Today we took the boys to a nearby lake and played in the water and sand. The boys LOVED it.
Silas, Silas, Silas! He is such a cute baby and enjoys whatever we are doing. He is our little sweet pea. Ok...maybe not little, he is 23 lbs at 8 months old, but our sweet pea.

Enjoying the warm weather with lots of sunscreen.

Jonas is completely fearless of the water. He would walk out until the water touched his chin and then walk back to the shore. He would do it over and over again. If we tried to help him, he would tell us "no". He is our sweet little fish!

On our way home riding bikes(yes we rode our bikes to the park), Jonas and Silas took a nap. Silas enjoyed having a shoulder to lean on and Jonas didn't mind. Brothers! It melts my heart when I see them love on each other.

Date with Jonas

I had the opportunity to take Jonas to Lowe's for a FREE Build and Grow kids clinic on Saturday. He built a cool Monster Truck which took him 45 minutes. He was so diligent about getting every nail through the holes and the decals just right where they belong. He is quite the engineer and loves to work with tools. It amazes me everyday how focused Jonas can be on projects.

Our 9th Anniversary

24 hours of R&R without the boys.
First time ever!!:) Wow!
It was amazing and most needed.

Dropped off the boys with Grandmom and Grandad,
and drove to Woodland Park to mountain bike.

I forgot how much fun it was to mountain bike with Matt again!

The Bed and Breakfast we stayed in overlooked Pikes Peak.

Breathtaking!

We almost got lost coming back from our dinner.
The B&B was secluded and romantic.

Grandmom and Jonas reading Curious George.
They had a really good time together. Jonas loved all the old cars and trucks she has kept from Matt's childhood.

Even though we needed this time together as a couple, we
really missed our boys. On the way to our B&B, we noticed several playgrounds and tractors working at construction sites. Oh, the things you appreciate when you have kids.

Father's day

Started Father's day with a homemade gift from Jonas
and eating cereal on daddy's lap.

Matt took Jonas to a nearby lake and fished for the first time.

Jonas was so happy to be with his daddy!

My gift to Matt was tickets to the Rockies game that afternoon
and a babysitter for the boys. We went with some friends and had a great time!

Bobber Silas

Just a little video of Silas enjoying music.
He is so funny!

Matt's 36th Birthday

Matt turned 36 and he wanted to ride the steam engine for his birthday.
We headed up to Georgetown where the loop started.
Here is a little blurb on the history of the train.
The thriving mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume lie two miles apart in a steep, narrow mountain canyon. To connect them, the railroad’s builders designed a “corkscrew” route that traveled twice the distance, slowly gaining more than 600 feet in elevation. It included horseshoe curves, grades of up to 4%, and four bridges across Clear Creek, including the massive Devil’s Gate High Bridge. The Colorado & Southern Railway operated the line for passengers and freight from 1899 to 1938, when it was abandoned.

Dad and Silas enjoying the ride.

Dad and Jonas enjoying the view. Jonas loved going over the bridges.

Brothers that couldn't look any different

A true steam locomotive

We ended the day with grilling out on our new deck
and enjoying good Tequila with friends.
Happy Birthday Matt!:)

Cabin trip in Wyoming

We had a very wet weekend trip at a cabin in Wyoming with friends.
Even though it rained everyday, we still had a good time just relaxing.
Especially Jonas and Asher...buddies forever!

Lots of yummy food to eat!

Wet and muddy walks with the boys. They discovered
lots of worms and animal tracks.

YES...it's a moose! A bull that was heading right pass our cabin.
The next day, we saw how big their tracks were...BIG!
We even saw antelope and deer all around.
What a fun weekend of wildlife and good times with friends.

Pergola

Pergola is finished and beautiful!! Matt is amazing!
Now it's time for landscaping and sod:)

Silas is 8 months

8 months old and started to scoot(crawl) for the first time.
He continues to make us laugh with his smiles, giggles, and
funny personality. Dad and I get a lot of drooly and gummy kisses
everyday...we love it!

Summer is here and we are enjoying our family time.
Lots of dinners on the new deck. Silas watches the birds
and is fascinated by the colors in sunsets.
Curls from the Robinsons! Aren't they cute?

Summer Break

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile but Matt is FINALLY
on Summer Break for 2 months! Yeah!! Enjoy the photos and events
for the past month.

Started off it by going to our neighborhood Farmer's Market.

Hoola Hooping

Going along for the ride in the red wagon.

Free train ride which the boys just loved!

Golf tournament

Another fun year of golf in Canada with my family.
Gorgeous weather and amazing golf courses.

Silas just hanging out at the Bear House with Oma.

Dad and I played the first day together.

Took 3rd place:)

Uncle Chad spending some time with his nephew.
I think he missed his own son...:)

Swing!!! Driving is the best!

2nd day of golf...didn't place, but we
had a good time!!

Last day, we got a flat driving over the pass to the golf course.
Good thing we had my 2 brothers and Opa to put the spare tire on. I timed them...took 9 minutes to change.
Took 2nd place and won money for closet to the pin on a Par 3.

Oma loved watching Silas.
Everyday she said "he is a perfect baby"!

House projects

In the midst of our backyard project, I decided to repaint the boys room. It was my project and very proud how it all turned out.
Took classes at Home Depot to learn how to paint clouds and grass.
Sorry, I couldn't rotate this photo for some reason...will send more once I decorate the walls.

Our backyard project has been overwhelming for the past year now. However, we are making big progress and it's looking more like a private oasis.
Jonas LOVED watching the cement mixer and
bobcat work.

After months of cold and wet weather, our red
concrete strip finally was poured.

Marked the concrete with Jonas and Silas'
hands...that was quite difficult but will remember forever!

Steps down to gas fire pit.

"King of the mountain"

Jonas and his buddy, Asher, loved watching
the bobcat work.

They even enjoyed washing the window screens for me while I
washed the outside windows.

Jonas helped me plant flowers in pots.
It was so fun to watch him pick out beautiful flowers with me at Home Depot and
then shovel dirt in the pots.
