Planting flowers together

Time to put on our flip flops and head outside. Today was a fun filled day of planting flowers in our containers and cleaning up the backyard after rain showers and wind storms. But now everything is colorful and vibrant!

The boys LOVED helping with the dirt. They scooped, dumped, scooped, and dumped! Jonas was my big helper in choosing the right flowers and making sure they were watered once they were in the pots. He has always been interested in flowers. He picked out a red small pot to plant a Marigold today. Then placed it near the trampoline so he can see and talk to it while he jumps. So precious!

First time eating out on the deck. What a lovely evening together as a family. We marveled in our work and ravenously ate our Taco Salad for dinner.

Finally sunshine again!

Well, now that the never ending rain showers ended, we enjoyed a day out with friends for ice cream. Don't get me wrong, I love rain but enough is enough. It felt like we were living in the Northwest. We love sun here in Colorado!

Jonas and his buddies from church! They all enjoyed a little dipper chocolate scoop with sprinkles on top.

Silas and I shared a Cherry Berry sorbet scoop. This is the beginning of ice cream summer! Yeah!

Denver Botanic Gardens

Back to warm sunny days today! We were ready to be outside again and explore. So we called a friend and played at the Denver Botanic Gardens today.

The Children's garden was a new innovative place for just kids. Play, explore and discover! Boys loved it!

There was even a stream they could play in and race pinecones or sticks down the water.

Off to the Tropical Conservatory! Humid air, curly hair!

Jonas and Silas' favorite flower were the tulips. They were gorgeous!

Before naps, Jonas wanted to revisit his umbrella outside. He and I jumped on the tramp and read books under the umbrella. "This was a fun day, Mom", Jonas said! Oh, how I treasure these moments.

I'm Singing in the Rain

After a few days of being in the 80's this week, we had a few days of rain. How refreshing! The saying...If you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes(or a few days) and it will change.

We long for rainy days here in sunny Colorado. Gave us an excuse to stay inside and be together. However, the boys were getting antsy, so we jolted outside for some puddle stomping.

I found a small umbrella in the garage and Jonas was tickled that it was just his size to hold in the rain. He told me that the 'J' shape at the end of the handle is for Jonas. LOL!

We walked around the block and stomped in puddles.

Our mission was to rescue the lost worms in the street and sent them back to the grass or dirt. That was entertaining!

My BOYS!

Mother's day

Here it is Mother's day! I still can't believe I'm in this stage of life...motherhood! There are days when I want to quit but then I look at my little cherubs in the morning, and my heart just melts. I love being a mom!

So I decided to honor mother's in my life and the love I have for my kids, and run a 5K race on Mother's day. The event took place in City Park, a beautiful area and a wonderful group that organized the event. We arrived early to enjoy the festivities and free giveaways. By 9am when the race started, it was 80 degrees already...HOT!

My loving boys and me!

Before the race, there was a prayer for all the moms. And then a girl read a poem about mother's. We were all in tears and just being still in the moment. Jonas was by my side letting me know he loves me. So special!

Yoga stretching before the run. Jonas enjoys doing any exercise with me or Matt.

Finished with my boys clapping and ringing their bells for me. Some day I hope to run along the side of them.

After church, we came home for naps and finished the garden. Matt's gift to me was to finish the cover for the garden to avoid any deer or squirrel visits. Silas was right by his side helping his daddy.

The sun was hot and the shade was refreshing. Silas and I decided to take a little rest and snooze for 15 minutes. Priceless!

A perfect Spring day...I had to take a photo of the blue Colorado sky.

After naps, I wanted to go to Heritage Square to ride the Ferris Wheel and play 'putt putt' golf. In the front entrance, they had this displayed for people to stick their heads through. Comical!!

Silas wasn't old or tall enough to ride the ferris wheel...it was tragic for him to not go.

I haven't been on a ferris wheel since I was a little girl. It was actually scary when they stopped the car up top. Jonas was Jonas...unresponsive...rolling with the punches!

One of my favorite past times...mini golf!

We all played more than 18 holes. What a blast!

Finished our night with pizza and ice cream at our favorite place, Woody's!
While eating ice cream, Jonas said "Mom, Dad, this is fun!"

My love and appreciation go out to all those mothers out there who are doing, or did, your best to raise your kids. Happy Mother's day!

Arapahoe Basin ski day

Last Saturday we organized a BBQ/ski day with friends at A-Basin, the only ski resort open in Colorado. We rushed out early morning to set up an area for all 4 families(2 kids each) to be able to hang out while others ski or what not. Denver was predicting an 80 degree day so the mountains was around 60's with the warm sun beaming on you. Paradise!

The morning was chilly and of course Silas loves to be bundled up.

Jonas didn't mind the cold and insisted to not wear his coat or hat. Oh well, he is my 'hot' son! Especially with his shades!:)

Jonas was so excited to be with his friends just hanging out. All they needed was a little snow, some food, and laughter!

Having an early lunch! We all brought food to share and Ivan cooked up some 'dogs'! They were delicious!

What a gorgeous day! Self portrait of the happy couple! Who wouldn't be with the sun, clear blue sky, and magnificent mountains surrounding you.

Eating some grub!

Silas was so worn out from sitting(lol), he decided to take a 2 1/2 hour nap in the stroller.

Jonas and Asher, the skiing buddies getting revved up to go ski. Butting heads the way rams do.

Off to the chair lift with mom. Jonas' favorite part of the day! Even though he got caught underneath the chair once and fell off while we were loading. I think I was more worried than he was.

Then onto the ski slope. I would help him halfway down and then let go with Jonas holding the ski pole for balance. Just after 5 runs down, he was getting the concept of turning when I told him to turn. It was amazing!

I lost track of time, we were having so much fun, run after run after run. Jonas kept telling me "again, mom". We were out there for at least 2 hours, no breaks!

Short clip of Jonas and his buddy, Asher!

I love you, Jonas...my little ski bunny!

Quotes by Jonas

Just recently, Jonas has been saying the cutest things. I wanted to share some with you.

I asked Jonas who are president is and he answered, "Oklahoma"

"Mom, there's a keystone on that building." (some of you might know what a keystone is and he sure was right...my architect)

"I moved to Alaska and built a house, come see."

"That cloud looks like a candy cane."

Matt took them to a Bear Creek High School baseball game and Jonas asked, "Is there seats there?"

"Mommy, some day when I am bigger, I will wear earrings like you."
