More photos of Thanksgiving week

Sarah Holmes just sent these pics of our vacation week. What fun times!
Woody's pizza...our favorite pizza joint!

Swimming at the Link pool.

Finish line of the Turkey Trot.

Dads and their sons

Too cute!!!

We bought a football for Jonas to play on Thanksgiving day! He never knew what football was until last week. We are not big fans of football as you may know. He kept asking us when the Rockies play.

Thanksgiving Festivities

What a blessed Thanksgiving week! We had our friends from Massachusetts come in for the whole week and had a fabulous time together.

We started off by having Thanksgiving dinner on Monday with a deep fried turkey. OMG! It was amazing! First Thanksgiving dinner we have ever hosted and everything turned out great.

We invited our friends, Tom and Corine, to join us as well. We had 6 adults and 3 kids around this round table. It was tight but we loved it!

The men, even Silas, crowded around to eat the juicy pieces off the carcass before dinner. I think this will be a tradition for us to deep fry a turkey every year.

Jonas waiting patiently.

Tuesday we went to the swimming pool. Jonas is learning so quick, before long he will be swimming by himself.

Wednesday we headed to the National Wildlife Refuge. Took a 2 hour tour around to view wildlife. Bison, coyotes, raptors, deer, and more. What a beautiful land we live in.

Tim Holmes found a John Deere facility close by on the way home from the NWR. He wanted to share his passion of tractors to Jonas. I think Jonas almost has the same amount of passion for tractors. We can't wait to go out to Boston next summer to visit Tim and drive his own tractors. Jonas kept asking Tim "you have dump truck?" Tim would respond "I have 2 dump trucks". Jonas was his best friend all week!

Thursday was the Turkey Trot for Matt and Tim(and our good friend Annie Brown). They ran 7 1/2 minute miles for 4 miles. They enjoyed the beer garden afterwards.

Peanut gallery!

Friday we headed through Boulder to Estes Park. Stopped at Celestial Seasonings to buy some tea and looked quickly at the Shelby car museum.

All snuggled up to watch the Christmas parade.
Met up with the Taylor/Helton family. It was cold!

Jonas and Silas enjoyed every minute of the parade. What a wonderful time to experience with our boys.

This past weekend, we decorated inside and outside for Christmas. Jonas loves to help Dad with whatever he is doing.
After dinner, we took a stroll down our street to look at everyone else's lights. Silas pointed and would say "oooo". Jonas let us know that some lights were not light.

Cutting branches

After a few autumn wind storms, we had some branches break. Jonas was right there by Dad loading the branches in a pile or pretending to cut with his chain saw...just like dad. We are hoping this will be the last weekend to pick up leaves. It's been a lot of work with all the trees we have on our property.

Another Autumn weekend

Colorado Railroad Museum was having a free day so we took the boys on Saturday. On the way there, Jonas told us where to go(west, east, south or north). It was amazing he remembered how to get there from going in September to see Thomas the tank engine at the museum. He had a ball!

Jonas was excited to wear his train engineer outfit again from Halloween. It was a cold day but he didn't want a jacket to cover up his overalls.

Silas was so intrigued by all the BIG trains. He shows excitement with his mouth open and pointing at things and asking "this?"...for "what's this?"

Jonas trying to figure out how trains work. He wants to know everything!

Sunday was a day of raking leaves again. Jonas loves helping his dad. And of course, run into the big piles of leaves. Last year, he would just scream if we threw him in the leaves. This year...LOVES it! He was sad that we had to pick up the piles but Matt told him "we have to make room for the snow to come." Jonas liked hearing that and is now looking forward to a huge snowstorm.

Our son Jonas is such a delight!

What a hard worker! Worked for 2 hours with dad.

Hello out there! Silas being silly again!

Silas and Jonas walking as babies

This is really neat to see how different the boys truly are.
Silas is 13 months old and is happy go lucky with just being a crawler and laughing.

Jonas is 9 month old in this video and he was determined to walk. He is driven!

Daylight Savings

Now that it's getting dark by 4:45pm, we are inside playing. It's tough on all of us but we are finding ways to entertain each other and have a good time. Here is Silas still practicing to walk but Jonas has the camera and documented it all. It was so fun to watch both of the boys actually play with each other and giggle.

Silas might have a future to be a line backer or Jonas being a photographer???

Jonas' best buddy, Asher, came over to play for a few hours while his mom worked. We love having him over...it gives us opportunities to be creative and do crafts. Here is a turkey made out of fruit...it was their morning snack.

Jonas has been learning a lot about the different seasons and how snow is coming. And when it snows, it's winter. Yesterday it snowed for the first time...a 45 degree difference from the day before. It's winter to us! However, we went for a hike today in 40 degree weather. It was nice because the sun is out and warm.

Happy November!

Halloween

After all our festivities over the weekend, we decided to stay home on Halloween and rake our leaves and winterize our house. It took all day and then mellowed out with a platter of nachos and hung out at the firepit for marshmallows and smores. It was most needed to be together as a family and we didn't have one trick or treater.
