Mother's day!

Happy Mother's day!  The most wonderful gift I have been given is Jonas and Silas.  My days as a mom is pretty ordinary, I plan my day around meals and naps and in between, cleaning pee off the bathroom walls just to spice it up a little. Sounds easy, right?  And when you look at photos off our blog, you think, what a cute family, they have so much fun!  Don't get me wrong, we enjoy life to the fullest! To know what to say and when to say nothing at all is a learning experience for me.  And when to promote independence and how to teach them from my own ways without ruining their perspective. The responsibilities are never-ending.  But I love it!

The boys organized an epic day for me.  First they greeted me with their cute smiles and infectious giggles in my bed when I awoke and handed me their pictures, poems, and a gift, a new golf umbrella.  Jonas revealed to me that he loves me to the moon and to Mars too!  Silas said,"luv you".
Off to breakfast at my favorite diner, Country Road Cafe in Kitteridge.  There was a 45 minute wait so we walked down to the creek behind the restaurant and skipped rocks on the water. After a huge plate of pancakes and omelets, we set off to Mount Falcon for a 3 mile hike.

Silas and Jonas with mom!

We came home exhausted and all took naps.  Before I woke up, Matt and Silas went to the grocery store and picked up some flowers and appetizer for dinner.

Then I had a hankering for a strawberry pie.  Silas and I made a pie crust from scratch and filled it with strawberries and some tart apples.
It turned out delicious!

Our last moment together that evening was sitting around the living room and Matt asking questions to the boys about me.
"Silas, how old is mommy?" -2
"Jonas, what is something mama always says to you?" -Let' go!
"Silas, how tall is mommy?" -16 feet
"Jonas, what do you and mama do together?"  -Wash dishes!

Legofest

A giant LEGO expo went on tour this year and decided to go through Denver.  We purchased our tickets 4 months in advanced.  We were all so excited! Our boys have been lovers of LEGOS for over a year now and this interactive experience has been the most thrilling event ever.  We are already planning a trip to Florida or CA to enjoy Legoland.  Maybe summer of 2014.

The LEGO fest in Denver was taken place at the Convention Center.  It's a gigantic event center and we had to follow the yellow line through the building to get to the actual event.  It was fun for the kids to get excited!

Our first stops were the models of different cartoon characters.  So impressive how they built these models out of Legos.

Stars Wars!!
Jonas REALLY loves Star Wars right now(because 'daddy liked them when he was a boy').
He has a LEGO Star Wars dictionary that he studies for hours each day.  It's so perplexing how he can name most of the characters and their space shuttle names.  He doesn't even know there is a movie about Star Wars.  LOL!

Next were the race ramps.  A fun activity for kids to build and rebuild race cars at a table and then test it's performance on one of the ramps.  They would just laugh when it crashed and burned.  On your mark, get set,....LEGO!

The LEGO Challenge zone where families would be in a race to build the tallest tower together in 2 minutes. Our tower kept crashing but it was a blast!

 Big Brick Pile-Paradise for Jonas
More loose brick than we have seen anywhere else.
Silas and I buried each other and would just lounge around at times.

After 4 hours of activities and games, we said our goodbyes with Batman moves.  Matt always wanted to be Batman when he grew up.
