Indoor Rock Climbing Class

My little marmot(Jonas) has discovered a passion for climbing. We asked him what sport he wanted to participate this late winter and he chose rock climbing. He has always been climbing trees, boulders, couches, and more, now it's time for the rock wall! On Belay:)

It took him about 30 minutes to warm up watching the other kids but once he was attached to the rope, what a new challenge! He is very strategic in finding a foot and hand placement every move. And is super cautious and adventurous at the same time.

Swinging time...learning to trust the rope and the teacher.

Outside the recreation center was a place for kids to boulder. Even Silas enjoyed being king of the mountain.

Jonas trusting his Dad. We even practiced falling backwards into his arms...geez!

Monster Truck Show

We have been establishing date nights with Jonas since he was 3 years old. It's really a great time alone with him and respecting who he is in this family. So Matt's turn was up and he bought tickets for the Monster Truck Show. He was so excited but you would never know...he was so stoic.

Jonas never wanted to take his eyes off the show.

A little clip of the show. Apparently, Matt stuck a couple wads of paper in his ears because it was so loud.

Jonas' excitement after the show. He and dad shared popcorn and cotton candy! What!!!???

Matt told me that Jonas said all night..."next year Silas and mommy need to come!" He is always wondering how we are doing if we are not with him. My little sweet pea!

Boom Boom Superbowl Dance

Superbowl Sunday, we had Jonas' best buddy over to watch the game. During halftime(as you may know), Black Eyed Peas performed. So the boys got their groove on and went 'boom boom' with Fergie and the band. So hilarious!

Another snow day!

We are enjoying these snowy days while we have them. You never know how the weather will be tomorrow so we head outside as much as possible. It's been extremely cold but the boys can tolerate it for hours. They have warm little bodies. A few days ago it was in the single digits and by this weekend it will be in the 50's-60's. Balmy!

Silas chilling on his tricycle while watching Jonas ride his bike in the snow. See below.
Jonas loves his bike...snow, warm, rainy days! Doesn't matter...if Dad rides his bike everyday to school in any kind of weather condition(yes, even days when it's -7), so can Jonas.

Snowplows were plowing our street all day. This nice driver stopped and had the boys hop in the cab. What a memory of a lifetime for Jonas.

Boys had their lunch on this new blanket from Grandmom which I finally finished the edges. It's so pleasant to see my boys enjoy each other. They are growing up so fast!

Boys went down for their afternoon nap of 3-4 hours(yes...Jonas continues to sleep well...wow) and we had "hot tubby time" with a movie afterward. What a joyous day!

My Wild Woodpeckers

Today we journeyed onto the Nature Center to learn about woodpeckers in Colorado. This FREE toddler class has been a joy for Jonas since he was 18 months and now Silas enjoys it.

First, they sat around and listened to the teacher talk about woodpeckers and the different kinds of them. Of course, Jonas sat still and listened intently and I never know what Silas will do...he actually sat on my lap and participated. It was amazing!

Then there were stations for the kids to gander around. Jonas and Silas walked straight to pounding on the tree trunk with sticks. It was depicting what woodpeckers do.

Then a creative craft station where the boys made woodpecker hats. So adorable!

Then they danced around doing the 'Hokey Pokey'.

And finally went outside to act like woodpeckers pecking on the trees to find food(insects).

Silas' 1st hair cut

We managed to wait this long for Silas to receive his 1st haircut. I was sad to cut some of his gorgeous blond locks, but he is still so cute! He did amazing. Sat still the whole time in the chair.

Jonas got a hair cut as well...he loves it! Always sat still and enjoyed having our trustworthy hairstylist and friend, Haley, to cut his hair.

The boys with Haley after their cut. Don't they look handsome? Still have their curls in the back...yeah!

Enjoyed a snack and coffee at a local coffee shop. The boys shared a muffin while we sipped on our lattes on a very cold day.

Extreme warm and cold temperatures

Last Friday we had a high of 72 degrees, today it is the high of -3. We are experiencing some extreme weather right now.

We thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather and the boys loved the mud.

Jonas loves playing outside in any weather condition.

-3 today...and Jonas went out shoveling with Matt for an hour. He is so brave!

Winter Park trip again!

Over the weekend, we went up to Winter Park again to ski and hang out at our friend's condo. The weather was perfect and Jonas rode the chair lift for the first time.

Family Ice Sculpture!

Heading to the pool after a good day of skiing.

My little ski bunny!

Jonas decided that he wanted to try out the chair lift. We went for it and loved it!

I was so ecstatic to teach skiing again. And now to my own son...wow! I'm so glad Jonas is capable of skiing and really enjoying it already. Makes me so happy!
