Spring Moab Trip

Another Moab trip in the books!  We love Moab, Utah and we will have memories there forever!

I call this photo the ABC's of Moab. Arches, Blood, and Camping!
We stayed over a long weekend with our friends, the Musser family and Andrew with Noah.  It was a very fun weekend with kids enjoying the outdoors and the adults sitting around the campfire at night telling stories.

After the Dads went mountain biking, we all hiked a 3 mile roundtrip to an arch called Corona Arch. The boys were so stoked, I think they ran most of the way.
Jonas, Cohen, and Silas leading off.
Our first and only flower(cactus) of the day.
The trail was mostly on slickrock so the Cairns(man-made pile of stones) lead us on the right path.  It was like a scavenger hunt for the boys.
Taking a break from the sun and eating snacks with buddies!
 Family photo!
Lots of climbing steep terrain. It amazed me how well well the kids just scampered right up without any hesitation.

Finally some shade again to rest and have some snacks.  Silas perched himself up on this rock and gazed at the arch from afar.  I don't think I have ever seen him this still:)
We made it to the arch.  Brothers together!
Looking up at the arch gave a different view of it.
We turned around and headed back on the trail. When we came across the same rock, Silas climbed right up there and pondered.  So adorable!
Silas fell at the end of the trail and wanted to show his big digger.  And look at those quadriceps too!
A day of happiness and S'more to come!
The boys chowing down on those peanut butter S'mores!  Yummy in their tummy!
Our last day, I was able to ride my new Santa Cruz bike on Sovereign Trail.  It was epic!

Baseball season for Jonas!

With all the snowfall this spring, Jonas has continued to play baseball.  Very little practice but the games on the weekend seem to clear up and melt all the snow. This year he was assigned to a coach pitch team with a few players from last year t-ball. They are called the Scrappers again! Even though Jonas is the youngest on the team, he is playing 'up'. He hustles and is more focused than most boys.  But in the end, the team works really well together and is learning a lot.

Opening day!
All the teams of the league lined up on the field to be introduced. Jonas was so proud to be out there!
Dinger(Rockies mascot) came to give them high fives. Last year Jonas was so excited to meet him, this year he was just as much enthralled.
 The balloon release!
Getting ready in the dugout. Do you notice the name and number on Jonas' jersey? Todd Helton's number.
 Jonas on deck
First hit at bat and he went for it! Wow!

 Running the bases
 Ready stance on 3rd base
Every player switched positions but Jonas really enjoyed playing 3rd base.  He knew what to do and when the ball came to him, he stepped on 3rd base(there was an opponent on 2nd that had to run) and threw it to first base. Amazing!  That little mind of his...always thinking of what to do next.  Inquisitive!
Brother Silas, one of Jonas' biggest fan. He wore Jonas' jersey and hat from last year, and even wanted to wear a white turtleneck, just like his best friend and brother, Jonas:) What a champ!

More and More SNOW!

April of 2013 will be remembered for the snowstorms that blanketed the Front Range. The total snowfall for the month-20 inches which is way beyond the normal range. It seemed like every Tuesday it snowed in April and now today(May 1st). Ski resorts reopened after closing and we all enjoyed a few more days of spring skiing.

April 9-10(7 inches of snow)

I bought buckets at the dollar store, anticipating for some sandbox play time.  Instead they built snow castles.
Perfect wetness of snow for snowball fight!

 April 15-17(9 inches of snow)
The boys and dad made a snow cave again!
 April 22-23(5 inches of snow)
Hot tubbing!
May 1st(maybe 6-9 inches of snow today)
Of course, the snow doesn't last long around here.  It will be in the 70-80's this weekend.
Luckily, our annual BBQ beach day trip to Arapahoe Basin was very warm-55 degrees(79 degrees in Denver).  The four families with their kids out skiing and eating grub. Such a blast!

Colorado is so fickle in the weather.  The saying goes "if you don't like the weather, just wait a few hours, it will change."
