Last weekend, Jonas played his first ever tee-ball game, and has now entered the big world of baseball. His team, the Scrappers, played against the...ooooo, I don't remember(hee!), another tee ball team in the league.

My Jonas, wearing the number 9(how cool...that was my number in college)
They began the opening ceremony by gathering all the teams from ages 4-12 and marching out to the baseball field.
Dinger(mascot for the MLB Rockies) was the honorary guest and gave high fives to all the kids as they paraded around the running track.
Honoring the flag by taking off their hats and listening to the national anthem.(Jonas is 2nd one in from the right in green)
And then the release of the patriotic balloons! What a show!

Off to Field 12 at Clement Park. We had about 45 minutes before the game. Jonas received his game shirt and showed me how he hung up his bat and bag in the dugout.
And sitting on the bench chatting with a teammate. Where's the sunflower seeds? :)

Sport at this age is so cute. They don't keep score in tee-ball, and nobody is really out, everyone gets a chance to run the bases and hit the ball, and it's all a lot of fun for them. Both teams therefore win and they all get snacks afterwards.
Jonas at bat! So exciting!

The peanut gallery! We had Grandmom come up from Colorado Springs, Aunt Mo from Lakewood, and our backyard neighbors, Cody and Kallie, all supported Jonas.

Second time at bat!
First baseman coach giving a high five and pep talk.

After an hour, the coaches ended the game and gave handshakes to the opponents. What a great gesture to instill in the boys early on.

Our Jonas is growing up, he is so happy to be on a team and acquiring amazing skills from exceptional coaches already!

Easter week

Matt and I decided to really talk about the resurrection of Jesus and the true meaning of Easter this year. Instead of introducing the easter bunny, we told both boys that on Easter morning mom and dad want to give you little gifts because we love you just like Jesus loves you! With many activities and a slew of egg hunts, came lots of interesting and profound questions from Jonas. For example, "Why did Jesus have to die?" Most of my answers were, 'Because Jesus loves you!'
This was the start of the countdown to Easter with 12 days of stories/activities of Jesus and why He's so cool! Each plastic egg held a trinket or conversation starter. Together we read the story in his Jesus Storybook(Bible) and how the object related to the story and our story. Jonas and Silas were excited to open an egg each day to find more about our Savior or of course a chocolate. One time in the story of Jesus being crucified, I had tears running down my face while reading to the boys. Jonas asked, "Why are you have those things coming down your face?"
Other questions asked by Jonas...."Were there dinosaurs when Jesus was alive? Was Jesus alive when you were a kid?"

Texture activity with shaving cream/paint and creating decortaive eggs.

One night we made glow in the dark eggs. Bought glow in the dark bracelets and put them in plastic eggs. We turned off the lights and played for hours.

One of our last activities was to make a tomb for Jesus out of playdoh and then on Easter morning, he was gone. Jonas really LOVED this activity. I overheard Jonas telling Silas about the tomb, "Easter is not here until He rises from the tomb. He got alive on Easter."

Off to Aunt Mo's Easter party at her company.
More egg hunting!

Then off to CCU's Easter festival. Slides, games, bouncy castles, pony rides, barrel rides, and egg hunt...what a day!
Jonas and Silas waiting in line with their friend, Asher.

Our sweet boys posing in front of our dorms at CCU. Surreal to be on campus again!

Easter morning we had a trail of jelly beans they had to follow to find their Easter basket.
Their biggest and favorite gifts were LEGOS!
More egg hunting!
I found a Star Wars LEGO dictionary for Jonas in which he can't put down. He will study that book for hours on end. It's so adorable! He loves Star Wars because daddy liked Star Wars when he was a kid.

Off to Grandmom's house for Easter afternoon.
The bunny couple!

More egg hunting!
Our last pose of the week on Grandmom's front yard.

One last quote from Jonas about what he did at church. "We went outside and let go of balloons because it means He's alive."
He is risen indeed!

Snowy day in April

First day back to school for Matt and it snowed! A 40 degree difference from yesterday to today.

Colorado needed this moisture for weeks now. Over a week ago, firefighters have been trying to keep a forest fire contained. Several homes were burned and a couple died. Today's snow was a blessing!

Matt came home and Jonas pulled him outside to play. They built a Bunny Snowgirl.

The finished project! After 30 minutes the snowgirl fell over...very wet, heavy snow!
Of course, it didn't stop them from playing baseball together too!

Spring Break Staycation

Matt's spring break was most needed! We had tons of family time at home and enjoyed the outdoors since the weather was phenomenally warm.

Our first mission was to potty train Silas. He was amazing! Accidents here or there but we are diaper free at this house now. Even at night time! Wahoo!
Silas insist sitting on the big toilet versus standing up or sitting in the little potty.
And this is how he climbs up and down from the toilet. We call him spider boy!

Our second mission was to clean up the backyard from the cold, wet winter we had. The boys were delighted to help with raking but after so often they went off to play.
Endless hours of laughter!
Hammock time as we rest!
And smoothies to cool us down from the heat.

Two practices for Jonas!
Playing first baseman...the next Helton:)
Smacking the ball off the tee was his favorite...wow!!
We found out that one of his coaches is the leader of our friends Bible study group. I could just tell God's presence is on the field.

Many days were lounging around reading books or playing Legos(of course). I loved watching my boys enjoy each other!
Thanks to Grandmom for giving several books on CD and thanks to Oma for a special place to sit.

More running around in the backyard and jumping on the tramp!
One evening we had Jonas/Silas' neighbor friend over, Kallie for play time, dinner and smores over campfire.

A brother is a friend God gave you-Proverbs

We loved having daddy around for a whole 10 days. It was a blast!
