Fabulous February

Even though it's cold outside, we as a family continue to find adventure and fun! Plus these brothers keep me on my toes and make me laugh often.  Here's to another fabulous February!

Monkey-see-Monkey-do
Lukas wants to be just like his brothers.  He will mimic everything they do. Slurping bowls, laser tag,  use lightsabers on the tramp, nerf gun fight and makes all the necessary sounds that go with them.
Sledding with the big boys...and Daddy!
 The gang...Mason, Crew, Walker, Nash and J, S, & L
We are not much of a football fan, but we will show a little spirit when the Broncos compete in the Superbowl(50 years)...and win!
Before we were pregnant with Lukas, we tore out the only bathtub in the whole house.  After he was born, we built in a 4 foot bathtub for him to enjoy.  Silas enjoys it once in awhile too.  I think he likes to dump water on Lukas' head...lol!
At 19 months, Lukas can now walk down the stairs forward without holding on to anything.  Impressive! Plus he loves to read anywhere he can.
Kindergarten Valentine party! So much fun!
Silas lost his second tooth this month while he was pooping on the toilet. What a million dollar smile!
Jonas and mommy weekend in Breckenridge! (I have a trip with Silas in May)
First, Jonas wanted to ski the bowls and then hike out of bounds since Silas is not with us. Jonas amazes me how much he loves to ski and how good he is.  There is a genuine passion in his heart.  I pray all the time that God would protect Jonas and watch over him on the ski hill.  This will be an awesome journey for him!  May Jonas have God lead him!

Out of bound adventure! Can you see the sign that says "You can DIE"?
Next day we went cross country skiing at the nordic center. He skied over 7 miles and Jonas loved it.

There was so much laughter and peeing of the pants.  Oops!
Jonas had a destination on the map...hallelujah hut! The farthest and highest point on the trails! We did it together!
Jonas was so proud of himself. Someday, Jonas would like to live in a hut that's far from civilization, hunt for food, and be in the woods.  I believe this will be an adventure for him one day in his lifetime.

Back at home, Lukas, Silas, and Snowball waiting for our arrival home after a weekend gone.
Rock climbing is one of their favorite pastimes. Silas rocks!
Getting outside in the middle of winter is so important even if you have to bundle up.  Brothers playing soccer in the background while Lukas flies a kite(Matt's garfield kite when he was a kid) for the first time! He was all giggles!
The reading level Jonas has obtained astounds me! When he finds an author or a series, he will read them all and waiting for breakfast is a perfect time too.
Lukas has a new love for Construction tractors...just like his brother, Jonas when he was this age.  I find myself looking for any trucks while driving so we can be awstrucken together. These tractors were parked and not in use, so we climbed on them for over an hour.
 Three brothers in a bucket!
At the same age, I took a picture of Jonas and now Lukas! You can see their own personality come out in this photos. Lukas is daring and shows outwardly how he feels...Jonas is content and his big smile was a huge sign that he was super excited inwardly!

Another photo that I took at the same ages for both Lukas and Jonas
Snowball fight!
Snowball makes Silas so happy when he is home from school.

Last but not least, Lukas is learning to ride his strider bike at 19 months old.  I think he likes it!

January...and so the adventures begin!

January is always a bittersweet month for me.  Either it's cold and been settling into hibernation or it can be warm and ready to tackle the outdoors. Well, it's a been a little of both so far and we have made the most out of our short days.

Once we were back in sunny Colorado, after several dark days in the northwest, we played a little snow baseball. I love the innocence of playing backyard baseball...no stress, no goals, no agenda, just plain laughter.

We always enjoy the monthly free Lego build it at the Lego store.  What a cute Lego photo opportunity for my three cuties!
The older boys practice piano and most days it's a tough task to accomplish with them.  But for Lukas, he adores his brothers and wants to immaculate them with every move.  On a daily basis, Lukas will pull himself up on the bench and sit for 10-15 mins playing the keys.  He is actually very gentle and loves to hear himself perform.  Sometimes his body will start jamming with the music too.
Car wash morning!  Lukas was intrigued for about 5 seconds, enough time to take a photo, and he was off to look at the card stand filled with photos of dogs and cats.  He likes to point at an animal and mimic their sound.  His favorite is the cat sound. Mew!
Lukas' very first time riding the horsey at the grocery store.  He voluntarily climbed up and held the harness like he has been doing this for years.  Before, he was always afraid of the moving animal in a store.
Matt came home early one afternoon during Lukas' nap, so Silas and I sneaked out for a bike ride that turned into a snow ride filled with laughter and lots of falls on the slippery snow. I enjoyed hearing Silas' giggles immensely and his sweet words to himself.  One time after a fall, he said "Good thing the snow was there to protect me...thank you snow!" I love this guy so much!
A late birthday present to Jonas from us...rock collection case.  He spent hours to collect all his rocks around the house and situated them just right in the case.  Jonas has been passionate about rocks/gems/stones for over a year now.  There was a rock he paid $10 for at the geology museum in Golden last month. He wants to grow up to be a geologist!
Our second movie date with these two boys...Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They were so thankful to be out with mom and dad...and of course, be approved(by us) to watch the 7th episode of Star Wars.
Martin Luther King holiday weekend became a 4 day weekend for us.  We took the boys out of school Friday and Matt entered himself in a fat bike event that evening.  13 miles at a nordic center, 15 degrees, snowy, and he had a blast! Before the race started, the boys demoed a fat bike their size...and were hooked. We may wait until they stop growing to buy a fat bike:)

We were there supporting our biker dad!

Getting warmed up by the fire after the race! These bros are truly the BEST!
Back at the condo with Lukas while the boys and Matt went night skiing at Keystone. I told Lukas to smile at the camera and this is what I get...

Our favorite pastime at the condo...relaxing with a big bowl of popcorn watching a family movie!
Mom's turn to take the boys out skiing! Fresh powder all day long in the trees.  The tourists don't ski the trees so there was plenty for us to rip it up.  I'm amazed on how well the boys ski this year.  I'm not afraid to take them anywhere on the mountain.  This weekend, Jonas and Matt had a morning date of skiing and Jonas skied the imperial bowl and hiked a bit for the first time! Now he wants more!
Anything to keep this guy occupied! Lukas putting on a beanie and laughing at himself.
Big crash in the powder! Silas had a positive attitude about it all!
 Do you see Jonas?
Boys have an art class Tuesday after school this month...so Matt and I have been making this trip to Red Rocks for a good workout. My husband rocks!
Lukas was climbing the stairs like he was in Cross Fit for babies! Ha!
Snow melt makes MUD!! Lukas has discovered for the first time how much fun mud is!
Rocking out with Silas' favorite band, For King and Country, on a sick day from school!
Silas lost his very first tooth...January 29, 2016(Grandmom's 71st birthday)
Brothers snuggles in the mornings! Pure joy!
