My little cowboy

"You can tell a true cowboy by the type of horse he rides."-Anonymous

Cheap fun at the grocery store! The ride is still a penny...can you believe it?

Abundance of Easter Celebrations

Starting 2 weeks ago, we began Easter festivities from dying eggs to hunting eggs to parties and being with friends. The boys are at such a
perfect age to really accomplish crafts and have fun at it.

Dying eggs!
Colorado Christian University, both of us alumni, put on an Easter bash. We haven't been on campus for over a decade and we live a 1/2 mile away. It seemed so surreal! Anyway, the boys had a fantastic time!

Bunny toss. Silas didn't understand the idea of standing behind the line but he was determined to throw a ball in the hole.

Of course Jonas made all 3 balls in the hole. Next year he needs to
stand back with the big boys.:)

Pump and pop game! As Jonas stood in line for his turn,
his wheels were turning. He knew exactly what to do to make that balloon pop.

Since Jonas knows how to pump up bike tires with dad in the garage, this game was effortless.

Bean bag throw! No fair, we play Baggo in our backyard
all the time. Jonas is a natural!

It was a warm, sunny day and Silas was getting agitated. Being fair
skin and blue eyes...the sun is not his friend.

Jonas' friends showed up later, Asher and Cohen. Standing in line
for the jumping castles.
And the race is OFF! The egg hunt began
and ended in 30 seconds.
My cute boys in their matching shirts.

Our dorms in the background. Things have changed since we have been there.

Community Bible Study had their Easter kids program. Jonas has been working on the songs for weeks but chose not to sing when he was up there. Stage fright! But isn't he cute? Can you see him looking right at me smiling?

Then it was Aunt Mo's company Easter party. Lots of candy, crafts, games,
and another egg hunt.
Bowling! Jonas threw the ball and....
A strike!! And the crowd goes wild.

Silas' turn

Finally Easter morning!
I dispersed a trail of jelly beans from their room to their Easter baskets for them to follow and find the treasures. Too bad it ended in a fight with the both of them. But we had to laugh!

Making Easter egg nests...a family recipe from my Great Grandma Kersten. So good!

Our last hurrah of Easter festivities was having 14 friends and their 14 kids over for the afternoon. It started to rain once people showed up but kids didn't mind playing outside.

The men attempted to deep fry a ham and lost track of time. Chatty Kathys!
Our ham became a moon rock!

Ok, the outside part was burnt, but the inside was 'money'! So juicy and sweet!

Having their dinner on the porch. It was so cute to see them sit and eat some grub as friends.

Egg hunt #3. We had to hunt inside because by then, it was pouring down rain. Our basement was perfect for it.

Last but not least, all the kids sat around eating their candy and listening to Jesus' resurrection story. My friend Allison came up with a brilliant way of sharing the story. She had 12 eggs and each one resembled Jesus' Easter story. Each child opened up at least one and found a cross, coins, donkey, bread, praying hands, purple cloth, nails, rock, spices, and then the last one was empty. It was an impeccable way of sharing the love of Jesus with kids. The adults were all in awe as well.

Happy Easter! He is alive!

Sports Class

After rock climbing class in winter, Jonas decided to join a sports class for spring time with his buddy, Asher. The class introduces different sports in a 5 week program at the recreation center. Last Wednesday was the first class in which they played floor hockey. Jonas showed up with no nap and very reserved. He wanted me by his side the whole time until he was handed a stick. And he was off!

The coach was trying his hardest to have structure, but 3 year old boys(and one girl) was not into listening(well, the girl listened). However, they had a good time and I haven't laughed like I did in a REALLY long time. I loved watching a massive herd of children following a ball around the gym. Intending to hit it in the net. We have just began our stage of life with team sports. It's a milestone! WOW!

Jonas and his buddy, Asher(in red sweatshirt), were on the same team. Well, was there teams??

Guarding the goal?

I know I'm bias, but I was very impressed that Jonas was controlling the ball in front of him instead of shooting it across the gym. Maybe he did hear the coach say to dribble(or whatever the language is for floor hockey). My Jonas!!:)

Kite Festival

When Spring springs in the Rocky Mountain region, it brings tremendous winds on a daily basis. Especially now. So why not go fly a kite??

There was a kite festival going on last weekend so we joined up with our friends, the Jenkins, and flew kites.

Silas was into watching while Jonas enjoyed running with the kite. He had so much fun! And were amazed at the beautiful sky with huge passel of kites.

Family Night Out

Baseball has began and we were psyched to go to our first game of the season. We parked outside the city and biked in to avoid paying for parking. The boys loved riding in the trailer looking at all the city happenings. Construction, light
rail, trains, crowds of people walking, skyscrapers, and much
more.

When we arrived, Silas and I were filmed on broadband TV. No interview just our beautiful faces....ok, maybe Silas':)

Rockies brothers!!

Jonas arrived and so amazed how vast the field was. He sat contentedly with his mitt anticipating a fly ball for 2 innings. Then he realized his buddies were with him and jumped up and down the rest of the game. Eating peanuts and 2 home runs were the highlights of the game.

Silas either sat on my lap or Matt's. We were stunned how he was happy just to sit and watch the whole game.

GO ROCKIES!!!

Matt's last day of Spring Break

Boohoo! Matt went back to work today after 10 days off. Yesterday we decided to try out a new aquatic pool for the boys. It was called Apex Center. Jonas asked if there was a hiking trail there. As some of you know, there is a hiking trail near our house called Apex and we like to hike there. It was quite cute!

Jonas loved this new pool. Lots of gadgets to pull and turn to make water squirt out. He was fascinated about how all the apparatuses worked. He has always been intrigued with how doodads work. Engineer?

Flowing waterfall!

It was like a huge bathtub for Silas. Lots of shallow parts of the pool.

Warming up in the hot tub.

Having lunch. However, it didn't last long, they wanted to get back
in the water. That doesn't happen often when food is around.

Tubing down a really long water-slide. Fast and furious!

Spring break back at home

Our second part of spring break was at home. Oodles of fun! Biking, scooter riding, painting, puzzle and game nights, bike park pump track, and Rockies Opening day! Today was 80 degrees too! Spring has sprung!

One day the boys didn't get out of their PJ's. Here is Silas strutting his stuff on the trike.

Jonas in his spiderman PJ's and riding his spiderman scooter.

Picasso time! Using cars to drag them through the paint and onto the paper. Magical!

Off to the bike park in Golden for the first time.

We couldn't believe how quickly Jonas caught on to the pump track. He is a natural!

Rockies opening day was yesterday! The boys were so ecstatic...baseball season is finally here!

Here is a little video of Silas talking. He loves DOGS! And loves to say it too! Today he said 'bike' for the first time.
