Carter lake camping

We had a great time camping and boating at Carter Lake last weekend with our friends, the Jenkins family(Scott, Amy, Kiah, and Karis), Debbie, and Kelle. The weather was perfect to be near the water...it reached up to 100 degrees on Saturday. Our campsite was 10 feet away from the shore so we took a lot of dips in the water and several boat rides. Matt and I even wakeboarded and then we took the boys out on the tube. Jonas didn't especially like it...but Silas is always along for the ride with a smile on his face. You will see below.

Karis became Jonas' favorite friend to hang out with for the weekend. She took care of him and made sure he was included with the kid activities.

Dropping the boat off at the ramp.

Jonas was taking it all in and trying to figure out this boating stuff. He was very intense and wanted to make sure everyone was safe.

Silas and I enjoying the ride.

Jonas was not happy in the boat. He had a special seat where he and dad had to sit. Matt couldn't move.

Games, cooking and eating together was so much fun!

Karis and Jonas sitting around the campfire.

Silas loves camping! Ok...he loves life! He is soooo happy!

Nap time was hot! Jonas continued to sleep his normal 3-4 hour nap. WOW!

Debbie holding sleepy Silas on the boat.

Second day, Jonas started to lighten up. Still had to sit on dad's lap in the same seat as the day before.

Third day, we got the boys in the tube. Jonas was on the verge of crying the whole time and Silas was bouncing in my lap just laughing. What different boys they are.

Here is the short clip of us tubing! Can you believe it? What kind of parents are we!

Resting under a tree!

S'MORES...the best thing about camping!

As we pulled the boat out the last day, Jonas finally stood up on his own to look around. Wow! What a change from 2 days prior.

Girls Mini Golf trip

My girlfriends, Corine and Frankie, and I had a mini golf trip in Winter Park. It was a blast! I loved sipping wine and playing golf with my girls.

The view from Corine's condo in Winter Park. Peaceful!

Corine's condo that we stayed in. What a relaxing mountain retreat!

LPGA...watch out...here we come! LOL!

Frankie and I shared a golf cart and had such a great time visiting.

Wish I could play every week but my boys are my hobby right now. Maybe some day! Matt stayed home with the boys for the 2 days. He did such a great job taking over completely and giving me some time away. I couldn't sleep at night, I missed them too much.

Silas at 9 months old

Silas turned 9 months old the day the Robinsons came into town. It was Sara's 35th birthday too! We celebrated with a smashing rhubarb and strawberry pie.
Silas Rollins Helton:) He is looking more and more like a Robinson(more like my dad, Opa, and his dad with the curls). Silas makes us laugh everyday. He is a silly guy and loves to play with his mouth. He makes the motor boat sounds and loves to use his fingers & mouth to make noise too. Any time Matt comes in the room, he says "dad". His first word! Jonas first word was "mom". He wants to walk so badly. He stands up and then lets go of whatever he is holding on to. He is a risk taker. I love it! He has not grown any more teeth in. Just the 2 bottom ones since 4 months old. He loves to eat and eats everything! He even eats beets, edamame, salmon, onions, and loves peas! He is not a picky eater. His brother, Jonas...well...we fight getting one pea in his mouth. They are completely different from the hairs on their head to the personalities. It's fun to experience this wonderful journey!

LA Robinson family visit

I am behind with blogging...there has been lots going on. As you will see.

My brother, Nate, and his family, Sara(wife), Eli, and Sydney came out for a quick visit on their way to the midwest. We loved having them here. The cousins just played and played. Jonas is at the age where he can really engage in playing with older kids now. He looks up to his cousin Eli who is 5 years old. And Silas loved Sydney's attention. Wow...there is something special about having cousins as your friends. It seemed like they were instant buddies forever!

Sara, Jonas, Eli, and Syd jumping on the new tramp. What fun times! They just laughed and giggled a ton.

Cousin Sydney and Silas enjoying the trampoline.

Cousins!!!

Boys and sand!! The best play ever for them.

Jonas copying Eli. First time Jonas eat all is veggies and meat. Even Eli ate well too! What cousins can do for each other.

Eli and Jonas enjoying a break at the water park. They love the water!

Dad and Jonas going down the BIG slide. Matt laid down to get more speed. Jonas kept saying again over and over. He loved it!

Eli and Silas on the trampoline.

Cousins making homemade limeade. And the grownups had real margaritas. Hee!

Cousin Syd holding Silas. What a big help she was with Silas. Any time I needed to cook or take care of things around the house, Sydney was there to entertain Silas. Wish she lived closer. It's almost like having my own daughter. She is such a wonderful girl! I miss her so much already!

Last day with the family. We had such a great time together! Sydney making sure Silas is happy for the camera.

Sara playing the piano for the last goodbye. And the boy cousins wearing the same shirts...hammy down from Eli.

Thanks for making the effort to come visit us in Denver! We love you guys and miss you so much!!

Rockies player sighting

Jonas, Silas, and I were at the library for story time this morning. Into the 2nd nursery rhyme song, Jeff Francis, one of the Rockies pitcher, came walking in with his daughter. It was difficult to not stare but I had to know for sure it was him. Lo and behold, it was him. With a smile on my face and my Rockies hat on, I said hi. I was so gun shy, I didn't know what else to say. As I drove home, I regretted saying more to him...such as "I really enjoy watching you play." The Rockies players are my celebrities. We love them! Off to watch the game tonight with Matt and friends at the ball park. Go Rockies!!

4th of July

For the 4th of July, we celebrated with my inlaws and my inlaws inlaws(Matt's brothers inlaws). It was a party filled with good food, great company(16 adults and our boys), and an exciting Rockies game. The Rockies won at the bottom 15th inning.

Jonas helped me make a US flag cookie cake to bring to the party. Matt made sure we had 50 blueberries for 50 states(even though the stars represent the 50 states) and 7 red stripes of strawberries and 6 stripes of cream cheese frosting. By the time we were done, Jonas received his first lesson from Matt about the "true" cause of American revolution.

Attempting to take a photo of the boys. Silas was in a nice red, white, and blue outfit...but he blew out in the first 10 minutes we were there at the party. Sometimes things don't always go the way you think they should. LOL!

Since Jonas and Silas are the only grandkids on both sides of the inlaws, they are very spoiled. Here is a cute wooden rocker that Aunt Susan and Uncle Bob found at a garage sale.

Uncle Andy and Jonas wrestling. Buds forever!

Aunt Susan loves babies. Silas just melts whenever she is holding him.

We drove home before dusk through a thunderstorm. So we were able to watch God's fireworks(lightning) and everyone else's show in the area. Jonas would yell out "pretty fireworks" any time he saw lightning or fireworks. He was amazed! Priceless!

Fountain park and car show

It's been in the 90's for the past week. We have been utilizing lots of swimming time and enjoying parks that have fountains. Met a few of Jonas' buddies at this really cool baseball shaped fountain park.

Me and my boys having some snacks.

That night we walked to a nearby car show. Jonas loved seeing all the old cars displayed.

Fishing with the boys

One evening we decided to take the boys fishing and barbecue some dinner. Here are some fun photos of our little excursion.

Silas loves drinking water from a Camelbak. Keeps him entertained.

Creek walking with Jonas while Dad fished.

Saw 2 fawns run along the bank. Jonas pointed and said "Mom, 2 baby deers!" I had to stop myself from correcting him and just marvel in the moment.

Dad cooking up some chicken and veggies...yummy!

Jonas fishing without any bait...he didn't know a difference.

Matt really loves to fly fish. Tranquility!

One little fish...at least he didn't get skunked.

Matt and Jonas wading in the water.

On the way home, Jonas told us all about his evening at the creek. Then he reminded us "It's night time now, we go home to go to bed."
