Hunting, Soccer, Rainy Days, Biking, Hiking, Circus...Love this time of year!

Somehow, fall is filled with activities and adventures!  Perhaps it's my favorite season. Before the weather gets any colder, our days are filled with outdoor fun.  What a great life we have in Colorado!

Daddy was able to take out each boy separately to experience dove hunting. Even though they didn't have any bullets in their popgun, they imagined it was them whom shot a dove.  Daddy is good at pretending too!

Rainy days don't happen very often here, but when they do, we take advantage of the puddles and getting wet. "Some people feel the rain, others just get wet." - Bob Marley

Trampoline fun continues to be hours of giggles and sword sparring!

"Children, I am your father." Sitting around the campfire one last time this season.
 Superman and Clone trooper unite!
Trimming trees with dad!
Headed out to  Bear Creek trail for a Sunday afternoon family bike ride! We were so lucky to ride into two rainbows.  Priceless!
Daddy took the boys to Valmont bike park in Boulder.  What a exhilarating adventure for them.

One of our favorite pastimes is hiking! This hike was in Evergreen at Three Sisters just Mommy and Jonas.

After school hike with classmates at Matthew Winters.

Sunrise hike at Green Mountain just Mommy and Silas.
Dinosaur Ridge hike while Daddy mountain biked the trail.
 Brothers side by side!
 Myers Ranch trail in Conifer.

Mommy time in Jonas' classroom.  Look how diligent he is working!
Zoo day!
 First time at the circus!
Soccer season was a hit!  Silas and Jonas played for the Denver Kickers and loved the practices more than the games.

Friends on the team...Loudon, Jonas, Silas, Cohen, and Haakon!

I thoroughly love photos in the leaves.  The boys get so messy but it outweighs the laughter and creativity of what they do with leaves!

Silas' 1st day of Preschool

Since Jonas has been in school, Silas has shown a HUGE interest in going to school.  With Jonas being dropped off at 8:45 and picked up at 11:25am, I have had the opportunity to be home with Silas and teach him the basics!  Last year, Jonas went to school during Silas' naptime so this time has been amazing! Matt and I decided to not put Silas in a preschool because of several reasons...but the biggest one was I want to be home with him as much as possible before he is in school  forever.  And I LOVE it!! I love the one-on-one time, finding the ways Silas likes to learn, learning about what Silas has a passion for(animals), and watching how focused he can be.

We have been working on the letter forms and sounds which Silas has astounded me on how much he knows already.  Which by the way, I haven't had the time to teach him like I did with Jonas, so it's amazing how much he picks up. With Jonas learning sight words in kindergarten, Silas has been wanting to learn the words too.  He has about 9 words that he can read and loves to point out the words when we read books. WOW!
We learn 2 days a week downstairs in the school room and 3 days being in nature. We go on hikes, bike rides, feed the ducks, learn about all the animals in the wild, look at bugs, etc.  Endless and priceless moments!
We are 6 weeks into school and all three boys have been sick.  Common colds, Silas got a really bad stye(see below), and cold and canker sores. I'm so glad my boys know how to eat well, so recovering from sickness has been easy so far.
I am proud of you, Silas. I love the way you love people, animals, your best friend Jonas, and your infectious smile! You are an absolute joy to be around! You can do anything you put your mind to.
