Happy 3rd Birthday, Silas! We created an easy birthday countdown with balloons, containing little surprises, ready to be popped leading up to his big day!
Jonas and Matt surprised Silas with their handmade gift-a seesaw the weekend before.
The morning of October 8th, 2012, Silas walked out of his room with balloons dangling from his door.
Immediately opened Oma and Opa's gift to him...
dinosaur lego, dinosaur book, dinosaur toys, and dinosaur stamps.
On to breakfast...pumpkin pie pancakes(requested by the birthday boy).
A little time to build just with daddy.
Off to Big Time Trampoline for a friends birthday party.
Dodgeball time!

After 2 hours of jumping, we came home for lunch that consisted of kid food-applesauce, cheese sticks, chips, apple with pumpkin dip, pigs in a blanket, and Silas' trail mix(candy corn, pretzels, cheerios, peanuts, almonds, M&M's, and raisins).
Pumpkin Pie cupcakes with orange cream cheese frosting.
The day was gorgeous of 75 degrees so we opened more gifts outside. Received more Legos, books, Star Wars figures and playdoh.
Jumped some more.
Friends went home and we headed to St. Mary's Glacier outside of Idaho Springs. The hike is not very long, 1.5 miles roundtrip but it's steep and reaches to almost 11,000 feet. Our little troopers were amazing and were so excited to see a real glacier.
At the top is a lake but Jonas insisted to keep climbing up the mountain to touch the glacier.
Up close and personal with the glacier. WOW!
What a climber!
Silas was exhausted by the time we came down off the trail so he got a little ride from dad. Dinner was at Beau Jo's pizza joint in Idaho Springs. Silas was so tired, he just sat there and stared at his food while we devoured it.
These are a few photos of the boys a few days before his birthday while Tim and Matthew Holmes were visiting. I thought they were super cute and couldn't resist posting them.

Dear Silas,
Three years ago, you made our family complete and we are so blessed to have you. This past year has been so much fun as we watched you grow from a wild toddler to a spunky big boy who is always smiling. You have such a great personality, your smile is contagious, and can light up a room anytime anywhere. You are absolutely hilarious and such a goofball. With those blonde curly locks and cute smile, you turn peoples heads all the time and get comments on how stinking cute you are. You love to wrestle with Jonas, Dad, or even me, and pretend your a monster and chase us around the house. You are always willing to give and receive kisses and hugs, and there's nothing better than snuggling up with you at the beginning, middle, or end of our day. You generally do not have any fear and will climb or jump off of anything. You are all about your big brother, Jonas. Your first words when you get up in the morning generally are "Where's Jonas?" and at bedtime prayers, your last words are "I'm thankful for Jonas."
Happy Birthday, sweet Silas! We love you so much! We can't wait what this next year brings!
