Lake Tahoe-Part 2

Drove from eastern Nevada to South Lake Tahoe took a full day.  We finally arrived and there we met our good friends, Erik and Joann with Camden(3) Maliska.  I can't believe it's been 10 years since we have been out to see them.  It was long overdue! Jonas and Silas' first trip there will be a memory forever!
We all camped out near a lake called Fallen Leaf(just a mile away Lake Tahoe). We spent a full week with them hiking, chilling at the beaches, canoeing, eating yummy smores, and spending every moment with them.  Reminded me of the good old times here in Denver.  Dang, do we miss them so much!!!

It doesn't get any better than this!  Just look at that view!
Joann took me out for a couple of mountain bike rides and she kicked my hinny. Once again I miss those days of riding with her. What a blast!
 Like a sister!
Matt and Erik went out for a few rides too.  I think Matt blew up his legs every time with Erik.  We had no idea how out of shape we were to ride with them.  But they were patient! Matt and I rode once together with Erik.  Joann stayed back to watch the kiddos and picked wildflowers for mommy.
Joann with the cherubs!
Throwing rocks and looking for bugs was a fun thing for the kids.
The dads braved the breezy day out on the lake.
After 4 nights camping, E & J rented a cabin for us across the road from their house for 2 nights.  It was wonderful to wash up and sleep on beds. One early morning, Matt woke up to ride bikes with Erik and he saw this.....
after the mommy bear and cub left, Matt realized they were in the back of our truck eating snacks.  A whole 2 lb bag of M&M's, homemade energy balls, apricots, and some nuts. Luckily, our topper was unlocked, so she just flipped up the handles and climbed right in.

Watched a paddleboard race on Lake Tahoe one evening.  Such a fun atmosphere!
Hours of fun on the beach!
"Would you like a sand cupcake, mom?"
Our last night, we took a family bike ride around their neighborhood.  Can you believe this is their neighborhood?  What a beautiful place to live!
Morning hugs and giggles...and then we had to say our goodbyes!  We will never forget our summer trip to Tahoe 2013.  We love you Erik, Joann, and Camden!  We will come again soon.
