Silas and I have been sick for almost 2 weeks with this awful viral infection of the mouth and gums that lead to swelling and sores. It was very severe for a week but we are finally on the mend. My sores were inside my mouth, couldn't talk or eat for days, and was so tired but couldn't sleep because of the pain. Silas got the sores inside and out of his mouth, as you can see below. Poor guy! He didn't want to eat either but at least I was still breastfeeding to keep him hydrated.
Jonas enjoyed his new movie "CARS" by his Aunt Mo while Silas and I laid around. Thanks Margaret! It was most needed in times like this. He lined up all his CARS from the movie right next to him. He was so enthralled that he could have the same CARS that were on the movie.
It's a new week and I'm so happy I am well. Still have swollen gums but at least I can eat some soups or yogurt without bleeding. This year has been very rough with my health. I'm not sure what is happening other than I must need a lot of purging in my life. I feel so badly for my kids, when mommy is sick, life is not fun! Jonas didn't understand why I was so sick, that he became sick with me by having a sore tummy. I think with all the stress and unbalanced lifestyle for the past few weeks, he made him sick to his tummy. Poor guy! I love my boys! I can't imagine not able to take care of them everyday. This sickness has made me have more compassion towards people with chronic pain. And really depend of the Lord when I have no control over it.
This weekend is Silas' birthday. We are celebrating with a few friends and Colorado family. It's been a tough year but I'm hoping and praying that this year will be better. We need to be well and healthy. Plus really indulge in our kids...they are only this age once!
