What are Little Boys made of?

These boys have such a gift to live in the moment. Somedays I really wish I could freeze these times I have with my sons! But alas, we can't stop time, so I learned to slow down our days and treasure these moments together!

Labor Day Weekend-Dove Hunting Season
Matt took Jonas the first weekend dove hunting and...
Silas the second weekend in September.  Both felt so special to spend time with 'just daddy'! And of course hold and pretend shooting with a pop gun...the pop gun Matt grew up with as a boy.
September 8th, we took a family bike ride at Bear Creek Lake Park on singletrack trails for miles. Today the Park trails are closed because of the heavy rain that happened in September that caused severe flooding.  Who would have thought there would be flooding in Colorado?  Well, it did...it will forever be remembered in September 2013.

8 days of heavy rain.  Of course we don't own rain gear...it doesn't rain here!  So the boys got out their fleeces and snow jackets to frolic in the rain. What a joy! But the amount of damage and fatalities in the area was overwhelming.

Morning with Jonas at his school was priceless.  I am not able to volunteer in the classroom, so this little event for moms to observe was delightful.  Jonas loves to learn and perform well for his teacher, Ms Parra.
One Friday after school, I invited 6 classmates of Jonas' and their siblings with moms over for playdate.  The boys were served pizza by Walker's dad and the boys played hard for hours.  After that little gathering, Jonas has felt connected with his classmates now.  With only 10 minute recess at school, the kids are not able to get to know each other.  I'm so glad these kids are Jonas' friends...they are kids that are kind and thoughtful!
Morning date with Jonas! Sunrise, coffee, and hike at Mount Falcon!  I just cherish these little dates with my boys.
 Tree cutting with dad.
What brothers can play for hours(I mean hours) together doing the same thing and never get bored???  Jonas and Silas Helton...the bestest friends and brothers!  Below are just a few things they do everyday:
Build forts out of play dough and set up scenes with their Lego Star Wars mini figures.
I found some costumes at a thrift store and the boys have been loving the pretend play.  They set up battle scenes, bases, forts, and much more.  I am always Princess Leia who is in need of capture.

Another day of playing silly with just things in the yard.

And of course, forts made out of boxes! The best toy you can give a 3 and 5 year old boys!
