The Lookout Mountain Nature Center put off an evening of activities for us to celebrate the first day of winter. A moonlit stroll along the banks of Bear Creak at Lair of the Bear trailhead, a crackling campfire and sung Christmas carols. We also learned about winter solstice celebrations, such as the yule log, and the many traditions around this day in different countries. We finished off the night with cookies and cider to stay warm.
