Silas is 2 years old!
We had a pumpkin patch festival planned with 3 family friends of ours but the weather turned gray and became cold for his special day. Just like the day he was born, it was gray clouds and cold with snow lightly on the grass.
As you can see, it snow lightly this morning too! Silas is very happy and I am exhausted from staying up all night thinking about him. I look awful! But isn't Silas so adorable?
Silas' first present opening.
Cinnabon rolls from Costco for a breakfast treat.

Finishing the touches on his Thomas the train cake. Jonas sat with me for those 2 hours of frosting the cake. He was my right hand man! He said the best tasting frosting was the blue color.:) Silas took a morning nap during this time.

Jonas being hilarious and excited for Silas' birthday. He marched around with the American flag, kazoo, party hat, no pants and a balloon singing "Happy Birthday to Silas".
Since the Pumpkin Patch was canceled, we decided to take our adventure to the indoor heated pool at Lakewood Link.
Mom and son! These special moments are priceless!
Going through the tunnel over and over again!
Sliding down the pirate ship with dad.
Matt took Silas on the dragon slide. Weeee!
Floating on our backs!
Silas is learning to catch a ball so quickly these days. It's amazing!
Silas is already recognizing his letters and numbers and it was fun to catch him tracing the number 2 since he turned 2:)
"Here we come mom!"
Hanging out back home with our kitten.
Off to Woody's pizza for a birthday celebration with Matt's family.
Aunt Mo, Aunt Susan, and Silas waiting outside to be seated.
Our boys just love their aunts and uncles!

Big greeting from Silas to Uncle Tim.
Matt created a MAD lib story about Silas and his extended family. Everyone was able to participate and listen. It was a riot!
Birthday sundae for Silas! It was delicious!
Opening a few gifts at the restaurant.
Finishing the night at our house with a few more gifts from out of town aunts/uncles and Oma and Opa.
Even Jonas was special enough to open a few gifts for his own.
The night ended by 8pm and we didn't cut into the Thomas cake. So the next evening we made some time to sing "Happy Birthday" again to Silas and indulge in chocolate cake.
He's two! And such a little person now. I was looking back at pictures from when he was born and marveling at how much can change in two short years.
Here is a quote that a friend just shared with me.
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.-Elizabeth Stone
